Motion Facts and Information

  1. For motion sickness or sea sickness: Have some water and fruit before and between dives. It can help by re-hydrating you.

  2. If you begin to feel sea sick, or motion sick; take slow, deep breaths

  3. Symptoms of motion sickness, seasickness or altitude sickness: Feeling cold and clammy

  4. What causes Motion Sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Age, Children suffer more from motion sickness than adults and usually adults over 50 rarely suffer from motion sickness

  5. The movement of a boat on a fluid sea creates stress in the portions of the brain responsible for balance. Perhaps that stress causes the brain to start malfunctioning as the land based environment it understands is suddenly not behaving, as it should.

  6. Motion sickness causes reduced blood flow and this in turn reduces the body temperature making the sufferer feel cold and clammy.

  7. If you begin to feel sea sick, or motion sick; Avoid strong odors

  8. To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness avoid fatty and greasy food several hours before you travel.

  9. If you begin to feel sea sick, or motion sick; Avoid spicy or greasy food/citrus juices/sod
