Motion Facts and Information

  1. What causes Motion Sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Pre Trip, Many times the previous 24 hours are the reason for motion sickness not the journey itself. Hangovers, over tiredness, anxiety, minor illnesses all contribute to motion sickness. A heavy meal, full of fat and possibly over spiced does not help either. Too many carbonated and or alcoholic drinks can unsettle your stomach which will make you more sensitive to motion sickness during the journey. Therefore if you are not fit, rested and healthy you will probably suffer more motion sickness than you usually do.

  2. Techniques to reduce motion sickness, seasickness, and altitude sickness: Position yourself for the least movement, The lesser the movement while traveling the better, this means asking the driver to slow down while in either a car or bus, sitting near the middle of an airplane or boat. Try and watch the horizon when you are on a boat and get plenty of fresh air even if itís very cold. When in a car try and sit in the front seat looking straight ahead, if you are old enough, drive the car.

  3. To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness keep children occupied. Have them count cars, boats, etc. or play games.

  4. Motion sickness is common and normal. Nearly anyone can be made motion sick by an appropriate stimulus, except for individuals with no vestibular system.

  5. What causes Motion Sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Conflicting Messages, One message or signal comes from the middle (or inner) ear that controls balance and the other message comes from the eyes. During changes in position caused by travel these two signals conflict or disagree. Or seen another way, reading a book the view remains stable while the body is twisted and turned during travel. These two signals end up at the nausea center of the brain and with such confusion is it a surprise that motion sickness is the result.

  6. On The Move - Motion Sickness / Nausea Remedy - is a botanical alternative medicine formulation which provides relief from the symptoms of nausea that normally result from motion sickness, morning sickness, and stomach disorders. This compound will also ameliorate the symptoms of dizziness and vertigo. In our observations and studies, the ingredients in this blend have also effectively provided relief from headaches, remedied certain learning disabilities, and have been effective in eliminating diarrhea symptoms.

  7. For motion sickness or sea sickness: Make sure you and your buddy have your gear prepared so that you can be ready to dive in as little time as possible once the boat anchors. When the boat is rolling with the waves rather than moving under its own power and you are standing on deck, possibly getting hot, especially if wearing a wet or dry suit, your resistance to motion sickness diminishes rapidly. Reduce that exposure time to an absolute minimum.

  8. This is the main symptom of motion sickness and is caused by conflicting messages in the nausea center in the brain. Many who suffer from motion sickness get the first three or four of the symptoms listed here and it makes their trip miserable but not as bad as those who start to vomit.

  9. Signs and Symptoms of motion sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness; dizziness, paleness, cold sweating, excess saliva production, nausea, vomiting, fatigue or headache.

  10. Air sickness is more problematic for motion sickness, however. An outside view doesn't necessarily help in aviation, because flight constantly presents sensory conflicts. During a coordinated turn, for example, our eyes show a tilted horizon while our vestibular sense says we're perfectly upright. Uncoordinated maneuvers and turbulence provide even more complex conflicts. In a cloud, we may receive all sorts of vestibular sensations while our eyes report a featureless, horizon less void.
