Motion sickness produces a whole range of symptoms, of which nausea and vomiting are the most severe.

Motion sickness is nausea and dizziness that occurs when traveling in a moving vehicle such as a car, boat, or airplane.

What causes Motion Sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Pre Trip, Many times the previous 24 hours are the reason for motion sickness not the journey itself. Hangovers, over tiredness, anxiety, minor illnesses all contribute to motion sickness. A heavy meal, full of fat and possibly over spiced does not help either. Too many carbonated and or alcoholic drinks can unsettle your stomach which will make you more sensitive to motion sickness during the journey. Therefore if you are not fit, rested and healthy you will probably suffer more motion sickness than you usually do.

For motion sickness or sea sickness: Again, if possible, avoid the cabin and other enclosed spaces. Sometimes, a breezy spot in the sun may be preferable to a shady spot in a stuffy cabin. The open air and ability to look out over the horizon are often more important than being in a shady spot, which can be stuffy and enclosed, limiting your view of the horizon and perhaps making you more prone to motion sickness.

To avoid motion sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: On the airplane: ask for a window seat. The front of the plane may be preferable, as it is usually less noisy.

Beer for motion sickness or sea sickness: Beer initially may keep you well hydrated and also has a sedating effect (not many people have nausea or vomiting while asleep). But the bad effect is that it may eventually cause dehydration. Remember drinking beer may eventually make you pee like a racehorse.

Digestive herbs or homeopathic remedies may be helpful in preventing and relieving motion sickness. As with most therapies, alternative therapies for motion sickness are best used before the onset of symptoms.

To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness always sit in the front of a vehicle and look out the front window only.

To avoid motion sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: For cars: It may be helpful to mentally rehearse a trip route as familiarity and anticipation is sometimes helpful.
