Motion Facts and Information

  1. Symptoms of motion sickness, seasickness or altitude sickness: Vomiting, this mechanism is usually for getting rid of bad food from the stomach, but in the case of motion sickness there is usually no bad food in the stomach, therefore after vomiting there is not the usual relief and the suffer still feels sick and miserable.

  2. To help motion sickness always ride where your eyes will see the same motion that your body and inner ears feel, e.g. sit in the front seat of the car and look at the distant scenery; go up on the deck of the ship and watch the horizon; sit by the window of the airplane and look outside. In an airplane choose a seat over the wings where the motion is the least.

  3. To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness drink as little as possible.

  4. What causes Motion Sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Racial and Genetic Differences

  5. To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness keep each other occupied and do not think about getting sick.

  6. To prevent motion sickness or sea sickness or altitude sickness: Avoid strong odors and spicy or greasy foods immediately before and during your travel. Medical research has not yet investigated the effectiveness of popular folk remedies such as soda crackers and & Seven Up® or cola syrup over ice.

  7. To prevent motion sickness or sea sickness or altitude sickness: Take one of the varieties of motion sickness medicines before your travel begins, as recommended by your physician.

  8. If you feel nauseous and about to succumb, please avoid the entry and exit areas of the boat. Hang your head over the gunwales and avoid "chumming" in areas other divers must use.

  9. SEA Bands are an excellent drug free alternative to chemical travel sickness medication. The bands cause no side effects and are absolutely safe for children and adults.

  10. Motion sickness is also a learned malady, which can be unlearned. Roughly 17 percent of military pilot-trainees experience motion sickness serious enough to interfere with aircraft control, but only about 1 percent actually wash out due to air sickness. The rest simply learn to deal with it.
