Motion Facts and Information

  1. Symptoms of motion sickness, seasickness or altitude sickness: Abnormal color of skin, especially the face. This loss of color is temporary and is caused by a reduced blood flow to the face and is similar to being in shock, being sick. Once the motion sickness ends the color returns to normal.

  2. Another treatment for sea sickness or motion sickness is an acupressure wrist band. It applies pressure to a particular point on your wrist, which can prevent the feeling of nausea.

  3. What Can I Do for Motion Sickness: Always ride where your eyes will see the same motion that your body and inner ears feel, e.g., sit in the front seat of the car and look at the distant scenery; go up on the deck of the ship and watch the motion of the horizon; sit by the window of the airplane and look outside. In an airplane choose a seat over the wings where the motion is the least.

  4. Most cases of dizziness and motion sickness are mild and self-treatable disorders.

  5. To avoid motion sickness, sea sickness or altitude sickness: Aboard a ship: stay toward the middle and look at the horizon. Avoid ship travel if possible. Stay out of small tight places where you can't see the horizon.

Most serve it pickled with sushi, hand rolls, and other of their dishes.

Techniques to reduce motion sickness, seasickness, and altitude sickness: The Night before the trip, Lack of sleep, hangovers and upset stomachs are wrong way to start a trip and to avoid motion sickness. Therefore careful eating the 24 hours before the trip is wise and will help to reduce the chance of motion sickness. Therefore avoid a heavy and or fatty meal, one with lots of spices, chicken and fish or anything that is old or a little suspect, like takeaway foods late at night.

  10. Different textbooks have different definitions, but basically motion sickness -- also called air sickness, sea sickness or car sickness -- is nausea and vomiting triggered by disturbance of the vestibular apparatus. The vestibular apparatus refers to the semicircular canals of the inner ear, which we use to maintain balance and sense orientation and movement.
